Is an isosceles triangle an oblique triangle?

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

What's an oblique triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oblique triangle is a triangle that has no right angles and thus can be either acute or obtuse. =)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Okay. :) So... can you make an isosceles right triangle? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes of course! ^.^ right isoceles traingles are used all the time in trig and trig is all about right triangles haha =)

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Then, since there is an isosceles triangle which is not oblique, the answer to the question is no, isosceles triangle does not mean it's oblique :)

Exactly! Knew you could figure it out! ^.^ Cheers!
