What value will you get after completing the FIRST step of simplifying this expression? 5+3-7+4/4 times 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first step is multiplication and division so: 5+3-7+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or 3 would be the answer to the first step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first step would be adding all of the the number because its actually (5+3-7+4)/4 because it creates parentheses by being divided by 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You do everything in the parentheses first so the first step is adding 5 +3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there are no parenthesis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

og okay then you would divide 4 first by going left to right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay but inst dividing and multi the first step or only dividing ? /

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you talking about all problem or just this one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know i dont get the question use forget about it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiplication and division are equal to each other the only difference is if it comes first in the problem for example if it was 5+3-7+4*3 divided by 4 , multiplication would come first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok that what im saying

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The only reason that comes first is because it is the first going from left to right.
