Younger people are actually more reckless drivers. Especially if we're talking about teenagers. They're actually much more likely to drive too FAST, under the influence of alcohol. In psychology, we talk about something called "adolescent optimistic bias." Basically, teenagers tend to believe that bad things won't happen to them. They're more inclined to believe that bad things can happen to OTHER people, but not to themselves. So, they'll drive like 100 mph over the speed limit, because they really think that there's no way they'll ever get into an accident.
