To find k i'm assuming you equated the spring force to gravitational force. Relative to equilibrium if I recall correctly gravity has no influence We know F = ma = my'' = -ky = F(t) my'' + ky = F(t) To solve the inhomogeneous equation a guess of a cosine will work. The solution is the sum of the homogeneous solution plus the inhomogenious solution
