Subtract:(3x^2 - x - 5) - (x + 2) 3x^2 - 3 3x^2 - x - 3 3x^2 - 2x -7

This question belongs in the Mathematics group but here's how you do it: \[(3x^2 - x - 5) - (x + 2)\]First get rid of the parentheses. In this problem you can drop the first set of parenthesis entirely and apply the negative sign to the second set to get rid of those. That leaves you with: \[3x^2 - x - 5 -x - 2\]Combine like terms and you'll end up with: \[3x^2-2x-7\]
