determine whether f(x) represents a polynomial function . If possible identify the degree and type of polynomial function f(x)=7x^3+8x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rephrasing the question: Does it contain only terms of x with integer exponents? Yes means it's a polynomical function, no means it's not. What is the highest power of x? That'll be the order. If the highest power is: 2, then it's quadratic 3, then it's cubic 4, then it's quartic 5, then it's quintic. Hopefully that's enough to answer the question..

OpenStudy (vortish):

it is a polynomial function now how to get its degree and type

OpenStudy (vortish):

Saif HELP !

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

f(x)=7x^3+8x^2 Since '3' is the highest exponent, so it's the degree. Type? Its a cubic curve.

OpenStudy (vortish):

type cubic function

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

is it a multiple choice question? Can you post a screenshot?

OpenStudy (vortish):

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Oh yes. it will be B.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Please do tell me your score!

OpenStudy (vortish):

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Wow. That's great. :D

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Congratulations.

OpenStudy (vortish):

i have a 70 percent in the class and with that grade on the finial i think i will pass

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Yep! You sure will. :)

OpenStudy (vortish):

I want to keep in touch Saif and thanks for all your help these last few months

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):
