For this one the first negative is killing me dont know what to do. If ignore the negative it gives me 1. but i combine both negatives which is a posite it gives me 21 as the answer what should i do i know its an easy question and doom

you have to simplify what is inside the absolute value first so you end up with \[-\left| -4 \right| +1\]Further simplifying you get\[-4+1\] And ultimately the answer is\[-3\]

Whenever you have the absolute value you have to treat it as if they were parenthesis and basically solve everything inside of them first.
