what would a person choose to have a better chance of winning a prize if he were given 8 draws out of 20, or 15 draws out of 50? why?
he would have a better chance of winning a prize if he was given 8 out of 20 because he would have a 40% chance of winning, where as if he was given 15 out of 50 draws he would only have a 30% chance of winning :) i hope that's what the question was asking for
does this make sense? or...
ok, in the first part you have 20 people. here you get to draw 8 times for the winning lottery, while everyone else has the 12 left. 8/20 = .4 or you drew for the winning lottery 40% of the time now suppose there are 50 people trying to get the winning lottery. here you get to draw 15 times, while everyone else has the 35 left. 15/50 = .3 or you drew for the winning lottery 30% of the time. in the first drawing you drew more times, so you had a better chance of finding the winning lottery.
