Ok I know this is not relevant to OpenStudy and I would not usually do this but I really need help, I am going to start working at McDonald's this week, this will be my 1st job. I was told I would have to work the register which I am nervous about because I suck at math and I have no knowledge of how they work, also I have to attend an orientation the 1st day. if anyone here has any personal experience working there could you please explain to me how the orientation will be like it is and how the register works? PLEASE REPLY ONLY IF YOU HAVE WORKED THERE OR IF YOU ACTUALLY KNOW HOW IT WORKS

Also here is a link/attachment of a video I found of a McDonald's Register, & I wanted to know if this is how it works or if it different. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dC6eDmpKN8

lol i dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but im not good with math so were even lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i thought that i would suck at it but really there easy it tells you how much the total is than it will tell you the change determining on how much they gave you than you give them back there change and receipt it dosent take really that much math to do that.

omg the first video that i just watched was awesome because they had a touch screen and A SONG OF EMINEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've worked at my dads restaurant when I was younger. Anyway they'll teach you how to work the register and stuff. But it always helps if you have good mental maths skill. How the register operates varies per stores. Anyway it isn't too hard. Quite easy.

Thanks Guys

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

Shouldn't they have someone train you?

OpenStudy (swag):

Yes but I want to at least be prepared ahead of time a little.

Swag, you will be fine. Take a little notebook and take notes. so you dont forget. And remember ATTITUDE trumps all else. So if you are eager to learn, smiling, happy and cheerful and volunteering for extra work - even if you make mistakes they will be willing to keep you on. Give it your 200%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry same here i suck at math..but think of the register as a giant calculator.

OpenStudy (swag):

Thank You for the advice @Preetha. I appreciate it.

It's really easy once nerves are out of the way. Just relax and there is always someone around you your first week to make sure you get the hang of it. I've been a crew member for almost a year now and as much crap as people talk about working there, I love it. Good luck, and don't stress too much! It's your first job, you have to start somewhere!

Thank You!! @RayneAnne
