Find the measure of a.
@shaik0124 can you please help me with this
@mathslover help here i am some wht week in this topic
Is this trigonometry ?
I don't think so this is my geometry course.
geometry
@mathslover can you help?
Oh!!! Sorry then :(
@ash2326 ? Might be he can help
use the cosine rule : a^2 = 8^2 + 11^2 - 2*8*11*cos(32.2)
these are the options A. 3 B. 6 C. 8 D. 16
u have to simplify of Right side, first. dont forget use ur calculator to get the value of cos32.2
@ash2326 can you please help I've already failed once.
i dont know what you mean RadEn
@RadEn so you cant help me any further
i got the answer, but i want u try do like i gave u a hint or formula above :)
well i got nine but its not one of the options so ill just choose the one that is closest to it which is 8. is it 8?
can u get the value of cos(32.2) degrees ? it is the importan component there
use ur calculator :)
i don't get how im supposed to find the value. im really bad in math :(
I have a calculator i just don't know how to find the value
i dont get too without use a calculator :P just push 32.2 then push cos :D
it gives me this 0.84619316613
yep. i got 0.848 nearest
now, apply it to : a^2 = 8^2 + 11^2 - 2*8*11*cos(32.2)
A. 3 B. 6 C. 8 D. 16 these are the options
ok
it gives me 35.752 but that's not one of the options
a^2 = 8^2 + 11^2 - 2*8*11*0,848 a^2 = 64 + 121 - 149.248 a^2 = 35.752
ahha, same!
thats what i got too haha but thats not one of the options
dont forget take the squareroot for right side
a^2 = 35.752 a = sqrt(35.752)
I think its 16. what do you think
use ur calculator again to get the value of sqrt(35.752) |dw:1362419526509:dw|
