Did Germany ever have an alliance with Russia?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you mean Nazi Germany and the USSR, they actually did which surprised a lot of people. Hitler and the Nazis were ideologically dead set against Communism, so when they signed a non-aggression pact with the Soviets, everyone was shocked. But the reason why Stalin was willing to overlook their hate for communists was more pragmatic. A secret clause in the treaty also agreed to split up Poland between them. That was something no one else could really put on the table.

Page Turner is right. During the forties was when this happened they became known as the Axis Powers or something like that and began to invade and take over.

the reason for the allie was because the soviet union could not defend them selves agaist germany, so they bought time with being aliies so they could attack later on in the World War 2
