Write the slope-intercept form of the equation for the line: (picture attached below) A. y = -5/8x + 1/2 B. y = 8/5x - 1/2 C. y = 5/8x + 1/2 D. y = 8/5x + 1/2

here's the picture.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its easy to remember that slope is equal to rise/run. choose a point on the line and either go up or down (rise) then go left or right (run)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + b m is the slope. rise/run b is a point on the y-axis

so it is (3,4) and (-4,-2) isn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but its (4,3) not (3,4). start at (-4,-2) and count up 5 then to the right 8 and you'll be at (3,4).
