Factor x2 + 29x - 30.

mathslover (mathslover):

Hello, I am posting the solution here as you are not online right now and I don't want that there should anyone be left without help. \[\large{x^2 + 29x - 30}\] The method which I am going to use is "middle term splitting" method : I have to find the two numbers whose product is -30 and sum is 29 I think and think and I got : 30 and -1 \[\large{x^2 + 30x - x - 30}\] \[\large{x(x+30)-(x+30)}\] \[\large{(x-1)(x+30)}\] So the factored form of \(x^2 + 29x - 30\) is \((x-1)(x+30)\) . I hope you got it .
