in a changing environment, which organisms have an advantage-those that reproduce asexualy or those that reproduce sexually? Explain your answer.

OpenStudy (agreene):

well, ideally--Darwinism would tell us that the ones that reproduce sexually would fair better... However, in practice, most of the bacteria and protists that can do both, will reproduce asexually under harsh environmental stress... Some think it has to do with using less energy to asexually reproduce, others think that under stress the organisms that can do both simply can't find mates in time to sexually reproduce.
