what is the probability of one red marble and four blue marbles

clarify your question. are you asking what the probability is of pulling a red marble out of a bag with 1 red and 4 other blue? or pulling 1 red, and 4 blue out of a bag with more than 5 marbles in it?

What is the probability of pulling one red marble out of the bag

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so one thing vital to probability is that it is defined to be -----> (#of ways the desired outcome can happen)/(total number of ways it can happen) so in your case, the total number of ways of pulling ONE red marble out of a bag that contains ONE red and FOUR blue is 1/5 5=total number of marbles in the bag, 1= total number of red marbles in the bag. hope that helps :)
