"Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." -Abraham Lincoln, The Gettysburg Address, 1863 The quote above includes an example of: A. personfication B. metaphor C. alliteration D. simile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

probably a metaphor since you cant actually bring a nation anywhere

OpenStudy (mertsj):

I don't know...I'm guessing personification because...."brought forth", "conceived", "dedicated". Why don't you post it in the literature section?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

def not alliteration

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true could be personification

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i think personification. "conceived in Liberty"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

conceived made me thing it was personification too but i looked the word up and it can be used two ways.... conceived a child or a project conceived by the company's founder,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think im going to go with personification

OpenStudy (mertsj):

B metaphor http://www.esu.edu/~godich/getty.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):
