Why is the cell theory a theory not scientific law?

A few reasons, Firstly, now days nothing be comes scientific law... ever. And its a relatively new idea. But moreover, the main reason are things like the axioms (assumed positions) that it has. All cells come from preexisting, living cells; for example might not be true, but we can't show that it isn't right now... but we can assume that this might not be true.
