A trapezoid is drawn on a grid with vertices at P (-5, 7), Q (-2, 7), R (2, 3), and S (-8, 3). Trapezoid UVWX will be drawn similar to Trapezoid PQRS with side UV corresponding to side PQ. The point (2, -2) will be the location of vertex U and point (8, -2) will be the location of point V. What will be the coordinates of vertex X? Show all your work or explain your reasoning. My work: Point X will be (-16, -11), because this follows the doubled similarity ratio demonstrated by points U and V. I counted the rise over run of the original trapezoid (4, 5), and doubled it so it became (8, 10

making point X (-16, -11).

I also found (20, -10) and (-6, -11). I'm so confused. XD

@dmezzullo help me out a bit please and thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty positive it's NOT (-6, -11).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, thanks, I don't want the lecture on when and when not to call 911 XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-_- mezz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any idea, Nota? (20, -10) or (-16, -11)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's (20, -10). (-16, -11) doesn't look right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea i am thinking that too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Thanks.
