would it be easier to factor 
$$7x^2+28x-35$$?

each term has a common factor of $7$ so the first step would be to write 
$$7(x^2+4x-5)$$ which you can then factor more easily as 
$$7(x+5)(x-1)$$

this is not the answer to  your question but you can rewrite it to make it the answer by writing 
$$-.7(x+5)(x-1)$$
