I know the answer, but I get a different answer every time. Please show me what I am doing wrong.

@Reaper534

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So im assuming you found the area of the rectangle, the area of the 2 triangles, and the area of the semi circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These are my answers for each of the areas- 1/2 circle- 9.9 Rectangle-15 2triangles-.5 each.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get 15 for the area of the rectangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops my bad I forgot about the little part inbetween the semi circle and the the rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean it seems like you did it right based on the calculation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you get as th answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk, cause when I did everything else I got an answer that wasn't an option.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you make sure that when you calculated the area of the the whole thing to multiple that by the 8 and then after you get that answer, you add in the 35 dollar installation fee?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah i did all that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well perhaps check your calculations since oyu have the right area I assume, but after i did it I got an answer that is one of the ones shown

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm. Ok cause my answers were like 2.42 and 2.38 or mesothing like that. And this is saying to go to the nearest cent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol *something

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Perhaps use the pi function on the calculator instead of 3.14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh well maybe I was just adding or mulitplying something wrong. At least I know I'm finding the areas correctly, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what did you get as the total area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25.9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 25.817

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh.. thats almost the same right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah its about the same but for insurance why not try finding out the final answer using mine and then yours and then compare the two answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mmk. I get what your saying. Thanks for your help bro

No problem
