The slope of parallel lines is the same. To find the slope of line z, subtract the y values of two of its points, and subtract the x values of the same points. Then divide the difference of the y values by the difference of the x values.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay and i dont know how to do that?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

What are the y values of the two given points?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Point 1 (2, 2) Point 2 (2, 7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is undefined

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@treeforest It's great that you know the answer, but the poster is asking for help to understand the problem, not just for a final answer with no explanation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the slope formula y2-y1 over x2-x1 so 7-2 over 2-2 which is 5 over 0 that means undefined
