i need it urgent plse help me draw a triangle ABC with AB=6cm, BC=9cm and CA =8cm. Construct tangents from vertex C to the circle through AB as diameter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know whats a vertex?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1362642711355:dw| nevermind. you should find out what a vertex is and a tangent just in case you're asked again

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tangent because it the triangle and circle barely touch diameter runs through the center of the circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the corner C is vertex C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how to draw it or how to proceed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

either corner can be A or B, I labeled the C vertex. the diameter AB is shown going through the middle of the circle. It asks to draw it a triangle like above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertex is just like a corner

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first i draw a triangle with the given sides as above given in the question , then how to draw tangents from vertex C taking AB as diameter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i understood vat u wrote but i don;t know how to proceed or how to draw tangents from vertex C taking AB as diameter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1362643724217:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just make a circle that barely touches the triangle (tangent to the triangle) but make sure AB goes through the center of the circle (AB as a diameter)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1362644110185:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes and the "arc" is tangent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k.. and there is no measure when we have to draw the an arc from Point C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@camoJAX plse tell me on thing first we draw a triangle and after that taking C as a centre how much arc is to be taken , i mean 3 cm or how much so that I can draw the circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or can u provide me steps of construction so that i can draw it myself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it something i'm missing here? can you take a pic of your problem and post it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do it as follows: 1. draw a triangle ABC, AB= 6cm, BC= 9cm & CA= 8cm 2. After that Take C as a vertex by taking an arc of how much cm then we have to draw a circle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you have to figure the arc length?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i m confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm asking does the question want you to find the arc length?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do it as follows: 1. draw a triangle ABC, AB= 6cm, BC= 9cm & CA= 8cm 2. After that Take C as a vertex by taking an arc of how much cm then we have to draw a circle *Yes you can follow those steps. What subject is this from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

constructions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this a college course?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, this question of class X -chapter constructions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Middle School, High School?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

high school

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@genius12 what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertex C is tangent to the circle and AB is the diameter of the circle. If it was me asked this question. 1. Draw a circle 2. Draw the diameter of the circle (which is AB) 3. Place "VertexC" anywhere inside the curves of the circle to make sure it is "tangent looking" to the eye 4. Label the given points A & B 5. Label the given lengths
