If two swimmers compete in a race, does the faster swimmer develop more power?

i should think so because P=Fv P=Power F=Force v=velocity therefore, the higher the speed, the higher the power.

@kausarsalley Not necessarily. Power also equals Work/Time. If the two swimmers are doing the same amount of Work, then yes, the faster one will produce more power, but imagine a sumo wrestler who weighs 2 tons swimming in a pool just a little bit slower than your little brother who weighs 40kg. It takes a lot more work to get the sumo wrestler moving at 10 m/s than it takes for your tiny little brother to move at 10 m/s.
