find the area that's enclosed by the curves??? of x^2=y and x=y-2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just need help with the equation :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First graph both functions to see which will be your "top" and "bottom" functions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, and did you find the points in which both functions intersect?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its (1,-1) and (4,2) i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah that's right, so now just setup the integral like so\[\int\limits_{-1}^2[(2+x)-(x^2)] dx\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you so much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :)
