Can someone help with this? xo Find the value of x. Round to the nearest tenth. The diagram is not drawn to scale.

Another one huh :) haha okay....so what do you have? a right triangle....with base length of 12...and an angle of 35 degrees..... Thats all you need....I'm going to assume you have talked about sin cos and tan in class if you have this kind of problem. What does each equal? sin = opposite/hypotenuse cos = adjacent/hypotenuse and tan = opposite/adjacent So what sides do you have with respect to the angle? We have the side RIGHT next to it...that isnt the hypotenuse...it's the adjacent side....okay...and we want WHAT side? the opposite side from the angle right? So which trig function asks for the adjacent and the opposite sides? TAN so we do tan(35) = x/12 to solve for x, use algebra to rearrange this into x = 12 * tan35 this comes to 8.402490459 :)

to the nearest tenth is 8.4 :)
