A spinner is numbered from 1 through 10 with each number equally likely to occur. What is the probability of obtaining a number less than 2 or greater than 7 in a single spin? 2/5 1/2 2 1/2 3/10

Parth (parthkohli):

1, 8, 9 are your favorable outcomes. The total outcomes are 10.

Parth (parthkohli):

The probability is simply number of favorable outcomes over total number of outcomes.

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

so the odds of any 1 number is 1/10 theres only 1 number less than 2.....and there's only 3 numbers greater than 7 so you have 1/10 and 3/10 the chances of have either are 4/10 I believe

Parth (parthkohli):

1, 8, 9, 10*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 2/5

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):
