y≥5x+3 and y≤5x-3 Which of the following is a solution of the system? (5, 8) (-2,3) (-5, -2) no solution

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

plug the x's and y's in and see if it comes out right y≥5x+3 and y≤5x-3 8 greater than or equal to 5(5) + 3? Nooo so that doesn't work

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

now repeat that for the other options :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i will do that thanks(;

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

lemme know what you end up with :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is c right? this thing I'm doing has 125 questions and i only have 25 left woohoo

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

lets try it out y≥5x+3 and y≤5x-3 (-5, -2) so -2≥5(-5)+3 and -2≤5(-5)-3 -2≥-22 ...yes it is -2≤5(-5)-3 -2 ≤ -28 Nooooo...the answer is actually no solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks so much my brain is just fried now i have 24 left yay!

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

haha it happens.....keep going...you're doing great :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks i really appreciate your help

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

of course :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y≤5x+1 and x≤0 is d the correct answer? (0, -1) (-2, 3) (2, 4) (3, -1) @johnweldon1993

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

is 3 less than or equal to 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

less than

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

no i meant less than or equal to as the function.......I was showing you that it doesnt work for the second equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh darn so that means its not a either correct?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

.....plug A in and tell me what you get remember coordinates are (x,y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A is correct isn't it?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

yes it is :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) thanks again master(; lol
