A cube has the surface area of 6x^2+36x+54. Find the length of a side.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the surface area is 6 x the area of 1 face so in your equation you have \[6(x^2 + 6x + 9)\] the quadratic is now a perfect square which can be factorised \[6(x + 3)^2\] so the length of 1 side is x + 3
