How a live cell different from a just died cell, does single cell has a soul?
In order to stay alive, cells need a working METABOLISM. Our METABOLISM is all of the chemical reactions that happen, in our body, that keep us alive. If a cell is dead, it means that the chemical reactions that kept it alive have stopped working.
To ask whether or not a cell (or an organism) has a soul is unscientific since there aren't any parameters which can be quantifiable in such a study. Such a question would belong to a philosophical discussion, not a biological one.
I agree.
Don't pass the buck,in a cardiac arrest,it is the electric communication via the nerve doesn't conduct ,and some respond others die,the influx n efflux of ion,s is erratic, that was the answer in 1966 when I graduated in med school, now in 2013, with science in the hands of profit seekers ,is it passing the buck,
Wasn't Biology used to mean, science of living viable cells,tissues,mass....What,s new....?
...What's changed is that they don't teach us about spiritualism and human souls in medical school. They teach us hard, solid, scientific ways in which we stay alive. Don't get me wrong. I do believe in the whole concept of the soul. But when we're talking about science, we talk about theories that can actually be proven. aaronq is right. To talk about the human spirit and soul, we would be talking about Philosophy and Existentialism. Not so much Biology.
A cancer cell keeps on multiplying, eventually killing the Host....what was changed The host died...in the end....it was host,s own cell....give your metabolism.....equation ,please....
I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to say here. I know what cancer is. I know that it spreads and eventually kills. And that all begins with a genetic mutation, inside of a cell. It begins with an error in the way that the nucleotides are arranged. A mistake. I have no problem with the idea that humans have souls. But again, that's not science. We cannot prove it. Real science is based off of the scientific method. I'm sure you know the Scientific Method. We cannot use the Scientific Method to prove that humans have souls. You think that a cell has a soul, just because its genetic mutation has the ability to kill a living creature. That's fine. But all you're doing is guessing. There's no scientific proof there.
Well, genetic mutation occurs from inside the cell or from the out side environment, which base is which causes the apoptosis ,?
amusing line of convo..........
Our environment can trigger genetic mutations. But genetic mutations happen inside the cell. We're talking about cells. We're not talking about the environment. Once again, we cannot use the scientific method to prove whether or not a cell or person has a soul. It's impossible. It's not science.
I know what you are writing, just want you to think out of box.Have you heard about the 100 monkey effect?
I have now. The 100th Monkey Effect. It's the notion that ideas and behaviors can spread extremely quickly and rapidly, once the idea has been learned by enough individuals in a group. I also know that the 100th Monkey Effect was discredited. ~~~~~~~ If by thinking "out of the box," you mean to say that humans have souls, I'll tell you again, I agree. I agree that humans have souls. I'm saying that science cannot prove that humans have souls. The question of whether or not the cell has a soul cannot be answered by science. But just because science cannot prove it doesn't mean that it isn't true. I know that too.
