can someone please explain Newton's first, second and third law with the use of diagrams and examples?? i have exams on Monday!! thank you!
First law... Things at rest.. remain at rest.. things in motion stay in motion until you put a force on it.. First part is obvious.. things at rest are at rest.. but things in motion remain in motion?.. not obvious right??.. but its true.. usually we don't notice it.. cause there is always friction to oppose that.. but imagine.. you are ice skating.. and someone gives you a push.. you keep moving.. until you hit something right? this tendency of staying in the motion or staying at rest.. is called inertia.. so inertia is like tendency of the body to keep doing whatever it is that you were doing (either remain stationary or be in motion).. so think of inertia as stubbornness.. resistance to changing so what does inertia depend on?!.. well.. you see its easier to make a moving bicycle stop.. so it does not have big inertia.. but think about a train.. you can't stop it that easily.. remember spiderman went all out trying to do so :D.. so its got big inertia.. so that tells you big mass = big inertia! .. first law good?
yep all good! thanks:p
