Find the traver time for each problem: Departure: 9:25 A.M. EST Arrival: 5:06 P.M. EST Travel Time: ?
arrival - departure
@aaronq So i have to subtract the time arrived from the time Departed or wouldn't it be the other way around?
because what Im wondering is I have the answer and it is 7hr. 41min. but I'm not quite sure about the process of how to get that..
you're finding the difference, in which time has elapsed. If you were to do it your way, you would end up with a negative number, and you can't have negative time, can you?
The diference would be 4hrs and some mins wouldnt it?
you're not taking the PM and AM into account.. convert it to the 24 system and you'll see what i mean
I'm not surek.. I will have to try to research more. sry
okay, so, Departure: 9:25 A.M. EST ... in 24 hour system .. 9:25 Arrival: 5:06 P.M. EST .. in 24 hour system ... 17:06 does that sound better?
How did you convert 5:06 to 17:06? I know im missing something ive learned
well 5 PM is 5 hours past noon... so 12 + 5:06 = 17:06
so anything you have in PM just add 12 hours to it, then you have it in the 24 hour system
oh ok I see!! and if I had one like this.. Departure: 1:10 P.M. EST Arrival: 8:29 P.M. PST
since they're both in PM you don't need to change it, if you add 12 to both the 12 will just cancel out
ok thank you. :)
no prob !
