we know that equations of lines look like this: y = mx + b. So we need to find the slope. We can do that by looking at the number pairs we have. In this example, I saw that the y value went down 3 while the x value went up 3. That was -3/3=-1. So I multiplied the x by -1 and figured out what I had to add to get y and that gave me my rule.
