The energy source used to produce most of the electrical energy in the United States is _______? Can someone help me on this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not multiple choice and I can't find it in my textbook.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

fossil fuels. meaning coal and oil

OpenStudy (ghazi):

hmm, well in USA you can have these sources or major sources - fossils (coal and oil , btw oil is not used for generation of electricity ) - nuclear power plant - natural gas - geothermal power plants are there - solar , basically in cali - wind at lower scale and - tidal energy these all are used for power generation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Everything I read says Nuclear Energy

OpenStudy (ghazi):

nuclear has small fraction in the whole power generation so basically power generation is contributed by all of the above and yea you can say majority is provided by nuclear and fossils

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you want the single dominant contributor in the US, it's coal.
