what are three reasons that high school students should study non-fiction lit in English classes

OpenStudy (koikkara):

@selizo-r Lol, You are asking question like "Why should Children Read..?"

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

Non-fiction literature is based on facts, biography, and realism. Therefore, having non-fiction literature included in reading courses will help students evolve their character and life. Having fictional literature will cause students to deviate from realism and create limitless boundaries that will not make sense in the real world. This can cause mental disorders at the latter years of the student's lives. However, implementing fictional literature as supplements and as an alternative interest should be fine, so long it is not the main core of academic studies.

OpenStudy (bostonblue):

can you think of some examples of non-fiction writing? i'll give you a few: a book or magazine article about an important new scientific discovery, a book about how the united states won world war 2. a book about how an athlete made it to the olympics. there are lots of other examples. if you can think of a bunch of examples of non-fiction, then it will make it easy to answer the question, because the examples themselves provide good reasons why it might be important to read those things. you could go online to amazon and if you type in 'nonfiction' under 'books' you'll get lots of good examples. or look in your school library (ask the librarian to point you in the direction of the non-fiction section).
