we can be besties and have matching t-shirts in minecraft block style :P. And we  can drive down the street in our jeep blasting "wake me up, before you go-go, dont leave me hangin all like a yo yo" :) no but serious if you go through al zweigarts book invent with python (at least I think it's that one) he has lots of homemade games. also, if you do edx the problem sets are scrabble games and such

You can find others by introducing yourself, invite others, chat with others about joining you, and even providing your contact information for others to contact you. You should try other social media platforms besides OPEN STUDY to get more to join you on your endeavors regarding GAME DESIGN. Lastly, you can just join a GAME DESIGN course where there will be others who have interest in the subject.
