what happens when a solution of water and t butyl was shaken up with saturated potassium carbonate?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

t-butyl what? t-butyl alcohol? be more specific

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that nothing happens. because T-Bu is not soluble in water and it is an alkane and the base \[CO3^{-2}\] can not take any proton from it.
