OpenStudy (christos):

Find the exact value of the expression 1 + cot^2(30*) -sec^2(45*)

OpenStudy (christos):

I knew that you were an idiot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my god. Use identities if you have to. Also remember that a trigfcn^2(angle) is the same thing as (trigfcn(angle))^2, so try evaluating the non-squared thing, and then square the answer.

OpenStudy (christos):

I tried it but I didnt get the correct answer

OpenStudy (christos):

So how do I utilize it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I use the cheat sheet from lamar edu AKA pauls notes

OpenStudy (christos):

Can you show me the steps please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for? i never answered it the first time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use pythagoreans theorem on the tan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sec^2 i mean

OpenStudy (christos):

This one is messed up in my head :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that should get you some values you can evaluate in terms of cos

OpenStudy (callisto):

You need to know the value of special angles. |dw:1362985329368:dw| sec is 1/cos cot is 1/tan
