OpenStudy (kamille):

Hello, I need some help with probalities. There are 6 numbers: 1,2,3,4,5,6. A six-digit number are made from these numbers (randomly, digits can't repeat), what is the probality that this number will divide by six? There is 6! ways to make a number, right? But I don't know how to find how many numbers can be divided by six?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as the no. will always be divisible by 3 , we have to make sure it is also divisible by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{3*5!}{6!}\]

OpenStudy (kamille):

So the answer is 1/6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/2

OpenStudy (kamille):

I still don't get it :/ Why six digit number will always be divisible by 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

check for divisibility by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the sum of digits will always be a multiple of 3 in whatever way they are arranged

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1+2+3+4+5+6

OpenStudy (kamille):

oh,I see now! thanks
