Can someone break down how to do this problem? Find the Quotient (25b^2-64)/(5b-8)
usually you wannt to factor it :) the top and bottom if you can in this case i think bottom is factored for you :).
or i mean bottom cant be factored further
ok... ? lol
oh ok
hint:(a+b)(a-b)
hint: usually in these problems the bottom is a factor of the top meaning 5b-8 is a factor of the numerator. (5*b-8)*(5*b+8) is the numerator factored out ^ see
@AravindG but i have to divide... ?
look at numerator it is of form a^2-b^2
(5*b-8)*(5*b+8) ----------------- (5b-8) the (5b-8) cancels so you left with (5*b+8) as answer
\[a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)\]
@timo86m giving away answer is against our coc .Please guide her to the answer instead of giing away thanks
i guided here read above thanks
no u just gave away the final answer ..process of guiding would have been giving hints NOT the final answer .Just verify it for her NOT give away.
anyways irisha did u follow that ?
*irishchicka
i just want to know how it looks after all the mulitying/dividing/adding/substracting is done and what it looks like after it is all writen out
wanted*
ok did you apply what I said to numerator ?
timo68m, do u know what i mean? i'm just unable to get the whole process down, but i normally can after it is completely written out
im getting lunch, be back soon
