Let f(x) = x – 2 and g(x) = 3x + 4. What is f(g(x)) ? 2x – 2 3x + 2 4x + 2 2x + 6

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

this means you solve g(x) first...then put that answer into f(x) what number / variable are we plugging in? (x) so g(x) = 3x + 4 weplug in x...every time we see an x....which in this case...is already done lol so now we take that answer ( which is the equation) and plug it into f(x) we put 3x + 4 in everytime we see x in f(x) so we have f(x) = 3x + 4 - 2 what does f(x) equal?
