What does the State Department do to protect america? How do they protect us from terroist and things that threatn the USA?

The State Department helps protect America by upholding the U.S. Constitution and our rights. As for national security, that is vested in the Federal Government and the delegated authority to its agencies, such as the Department of Homeland Security, Transpiration Security Administration, and others.
