Is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Ca + 2 H _{2}O \rightarrow Ca(OH)_{2} + H _{2}\] \[2Na + 2H _{2}O \rightarrow 2 NaOH + H _{2}\]I guess I should say are these right? ... We reacted Ca and Na with water and it asked to write the balanced equation for what we saw. Then we put phenolphthalein in the water with the Ca and tested it for base. It also asked for an explanation to support my balanced equation which I'm not sure what to say???

Hello, do you mind placing your questions here exactly like your book asks for it ? Because it does not make any sense. The first one Ca+2H2O→Ca(OH)2+H2 is already balanced. The second one: 2Na+2H2O→2NaOH+H2 is also balanced. So, i guess you did not interpret your question correctly, here. Let me know ....

yeah I know it is balanced. LOL... those are the balanced equations that I wrote for ca reacting with water and for na reacting with water. Just making sure they're correct because I suck at balancing..........
