Is there a correlation between reactivity with acid and the position of the element on the periodic table??
In lab we took 120 mL of water. Then added 40 mL of 4.0 M HCl solution. Then we put about 5 mL of that solution into a test tube. We reacted Mg and Al with it. Then the question asks if there is a correlation between where the element is on the periodic table and its reactivity with acid.
I was thinking it has something to do with the loss of H+ atoms??? But I'm not sure
@chmvijay any thoughts?
it is based on electrochemistry that is red-ox potential of those metals are if above the standard hydrogen potential they release the H2 something related to electrochemical series and not the row or group of the Periodic table!!
hmm. Okay thanks
ur welcome!! :)
