natural selections acts directly on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It acts directly on the PHENOTYPE of an organism. The PHENOTYPE can be another word for the APPEARANCE of an organism. NATURAL SELECTION is where nature decides who lives, and who dies. And it all depends on the appearance of an organism. For example, if the weather outside were freezing cold, furry animals would probably live, because they have fur to keep them warm. But animals without fur would probably die.
