(11p + 3q + 4) + (-5p + 8q)
the answer would be 9.
11p + 3q + 4 - 5p +8q =6p + 11q
Am I correct that the answer is 9?
well...what is 11p - 5p?..what is 3q + 8 q? and just bring the 4 along for the ride lol
Awsome I knew I was doing it right. :)
that simplified would be as @choopers has said :) 6p + 11q + 4 @Puahina where is the 9 coming from?
oh, I forgot the 4. :))))
lol @choopers yeah..little mistake :)
@Puahina ...i would like to know how you are coming to the answer of 9? that way I can help you understand
oops my mistake I was subtracting 11q - 6p instead of adding. :(
see I knew that's where your mistake was.....see how 11 has a q....and 6 has a p? you cannot combine these terms you can only combine a p with another p or a q with another q you cannot combine a q and a p the answer both @choopers and myself have come to...is your final answer...because nothing else can be combined...nor simplified
Thanks
yeah. you can only combine number with the same variable and exponent when adding or subtracting an equation.
no problem...do you understand that logic? and yes...good way to say it @choopers :)
yes I do. I didnt realize it till now that i did this in class 2 weeks ago.
