What was the world like prior to WWII?
Peaceful...(: Only the Husband worked for a living. The mother stayed at home to take care of the children. Mostly, that's true - but there was a depression going on (or just ending) and money was tight !!! No TV, but everybody listened to the radio. We had electricity, but my grandmother did not, nor did she have indoor plumbing. There were very few "appliances" (there were few refrigerators, people still got ice delivered every other day (daily in the summer,) so mommy had a full day's work; cooking from scratch and washing was still a major chore. The children had best entertain themselves, but everybody went to the movies, for example the Saturday afternoon specials (triple feature, newsreels, cartoons, informationals ((never called that, but they were.)) See it all twice and get home after dark. There were libraries, free times at all the museums and parks were safe for kids, so was almost everything else.
The world is a bit of a broad place... any more place specific?
