a manic episode is ______.
Can't actually help, but....... Welcome to OpenStudy, @will145 !
This is a psychology question. A "manic episode" is where someone goes through a very strangely "elevated" mood. What this means is that the person might feel very happy. Very energetic. They might feel very good about themselves. As though they're on top of the world. They'll feel very optimistic, as though they can do anything that they want. ANYTHING in the world. They start to experience a very...unrealistic outlook on life. And this is the reason for why people who are going through a manic episode can also be very irritable. It's because when other people tell them that they should calm down, and think about their actions, they'll get angry at that person, right away. Manic episodes are a part of something called "bipolar disorder." It's a psychological disorder. And these manic episodes usually last AT LEAST a week or two.
Its a bipolar episode that last up to a week at a time.
