(speed boat)- During a race, Elizabeth's speed boat travels 4mph faster than Melissa's boat. If Elizabeth's boat finishes the race in 3 hours and Melissa's finishes the race in 3.4 hours, find the speed of each boat. "could you please help me solve this?" thank you
does anyone knows how to solve this word problem?
well to work this out 4mph divided by 3 would give you 1.3 miles for the first boat. then the second boat would be goin .65mph rounded to the nerist hundreds :P
i maybe wrong im not sure but thats the best i could do
the answer is 30 miles for melyssa and 34 miles to Elizabeth...I just don't know how to solve the equation,... put it together...do you?

well to work this out 4mph divided by 3 would give you 1.3 miles for the first boat. then the second boat would be goin .65mph rounded to the nerist hundreds........ then u move the decimal over 2 for each then 1.4=140mph, and the second one becomes 65mph... lemme know if those are an answer
