Let's use this theorem first: Theorem: If the altitude is drawn to the hypotenuse of a right triangle, the length of the altitude is the geometric mean between the lengths of the segments of the hypotenuse.
DC is to BC as BC is to CA DC/BC = BC/CA
DC/BC = BC/CA DC/37 = 37/53 Solve for DC
