can anyone help me and explain how to do this please. Determine if the function represents exponential growth or decay, and find the y-intercept of f(x) = ½ ( 4 )x. A. Exponential decay passing through (0, ½ ) B. Exponential decay passing through (0, 4) C. Exponential growth passing through (0, ½ ) D. Eexponential growth passing through (0, 4)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The base is 4, which is larger than 1, so you have exponential growth If the base was smaller than 1, then you would have exponential decay

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you just need to figure out the y-intercept, so you would plug in x = 0 to find y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not exactly sire how to do that

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

replace x with 0, then evaluate and tell me what you get
